When it comes to your health, it’s not a cookie-cutter 10 step approach. And it definitely isn’t a one-fits all either. It’s a unique journey that’s specific to you and only you. A process that starts by achieving a alignment on the inside.

Because when your emotions, hormones and digestion are out of whack, and your body isn’t getting the nutrients it needs, it can really impact how you look and feel. And not for the better. How that shows up varies for everyone, but it can look a little something like this. You:

Qi) believed to flow through channels (known as meridians) in your body. Illness is said to be the consequence of an imbalance in the flow of energy. By inserting tiny sterile needles into specific points along these meridians, it is believed that the energy flow can be brought back into proper balance restoring health.  

Acupuncture is an awesome treatment for many conditions. I commonly use it for stress relief, pain, anxiety, insomnia , emotional and digestive issues, headaches and hormonal imbalances.

For fertility support, I offer on-site acupuncture for preconception care, fertility boosting, and even for your IVF pre and post-transfer.

Bio-identical hormones have the same molecular structure and function as those naturally occurring in our body. Salivary testing, blood or urinary testing is recommended in order to determine the right dosage of
bio-identical hormone therapy.

While dietary and lifestyle changes, supplements, acupuncture and herbs can often resolve symptoms of hormonal imbalance, there are times when hormone replacement provides the best relief.
Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) can be an effective treatment option for women struggling with hormonal issues, including but not limited to: menopause, infertility, fibroids, PMS, acne and PCOS.

Additional testing, that is highly recommended, may include: a food sensitivity panel (120-200 foods and spices), candida, heavy metals,  urinary hormone panels, comprehensive digestive stool analysis or additional blood work.

The state of your gut health has the utmost potential to promote health and well-being. It’s the biggest key to having a rocking digestion, and healthy body and happy mind.

Most people assume that digestive issues like bloating, gas and constipation are the only indications that they might have an unhealthy gut. NOT TRUE. It is connected to so many other parts of the body, including the endocrine system, brain and immune system.

When your gut is unhealthy it creates inflammation. Imagine this type of inflammation is like an internal fire and your immune system are the firefighters. At first the firefighters are able to control the fire. However, the fire keeps coming back stronger and stronger. This can be quite exhausting on your immune system. Eventually, the damage from the inflammation outweighs your bodies ability to fight, repair and heal.  Over time, this constant inflammation causes some major damage to your gut lining which can eventually lead to  leaky gut (also known as increased intestinal permeability). This creates the perfect opportunity for toxins, bad bacteria, parasites, yeast and undigested food particles to enter into your bloodstream where they don’t belong. Your immune system tags these “foreign substances” as pathogens and tries to get rid of them. Your immune response to these “foreign substances” can appear as the signs, symptoms and conditions listed below:

  • Bloating and gas
  • Ulcerative Colitis, H.pylori, Chron’s disease and IBS
  • Food sensitivities/intolerances
  • Digestive problems: stomach pain, cramps or reflux

Align Your Gut, Align Your Life

In order to have glowing skin, a solid digestion, more energy, and a calm mind, your gut needs to be in tip-top shape. By restoring your gut health, you can see chronic and annoying health issues lessen or even disappear. By balancing the inside, you change your outside.  You also digest your food better and get the nutrients you need, which means less tummy troubles(bloating, gas, etc) and pooping issues(constipation and diarrhea).  Your skin can have a glow that no cream, lotion or potion could ever deliver. You lose that stubborn weight that just wouldn’t budge no matter what you did in the past. That’s why I created The Gut Detox. Because a healthy gut = a healthy body and mind.

The Gut Detox is an effective program to help people heal their gut, balance their microbriome (gut flora), eliminate their inflammatory foods(food sensitivities), avoid/lessen toxin exposure, and de-stress their mind. This program has 4 components: CLEAR, RESTORE, BALANCE and REGENERATE. This program can be followed by most. However, the specifics of the protocol need to be individually tailored in order to get the best results. No two protocols are ever the same because no two people are the same.  The length of time for the program, specific foods/diet, testing measures, natural treatment and  supplementation can vary widely between individuals.

Below is a brief overview of the 4 components:

1. Cleanse your diet, gut and mind.

This is one of the most important steps. #1 needs to ALWAYS be addressed FIRST in order for the following 3 steps to be effective. I recommend all patients do a food IgG test and eliminate their specific food intolerances that trigger inflammation. I also clear their gut of any unwanted bad bugs (unfriendly bacteria, yeast, or parasites). Eliminating/lessening their toxin exposure is also part of this step since toxins destroy the gut lining. In addition to addressing all the physical areas that effect gut health, addressing stress is imperative. Chronic stress really takes a toll on your gut because it adds fuel to the fire, in terms of inflammation.  Helping patients establish a stress management regime is key, not just for healing their gut, but for overall well-being, happiness and fulfillment.

2. Restore with the right stuff.

The word “restore” reflects how we are supporting a depleted digestive system. You reactivate it by restoring key nutrients, whether it be through herbs, acupuncture, IV therapy, natural foods and/or supplementation.

3. Balance your bacteria.

It’s all about the microbiome. Your gut bacteria are your internal “army.” After long term damage, the good guys are usually depleted. We need to reintroduce beneficial bacteria so that your gut flora has enough of the good guys to protect you from bad bugs(yeast, bacteria, parasites), help support digestive function and keep your immune system in check.

4. Regenerate your gut

The final step is designed to heal the intestinal lining from the damages caused by chronic infections, food intolerances, stress and  toxins. In order to do this, I may recommend healing foods, acupuncture, herbal remedies and/or supplementation to heal the gut lining for long term health.
